Mt. Rainier Portraits from the East Side

The iconic Mt. Rainier looms large in many parts of our Northwest. It has been a place of discovery since moving here over 35 years ago from the humble hills of Wisconsin. The east side of the Mountain is not often visited, but this summer we decided to camp near the NE corner and further explore the beauty here.

The two areas we concentrated on were Sunrise and Tipsoo Lakes.

A grand afternoon view from Sunrise

The following photographs are evening light at Tipsoo Lake. It was mostly clear skies for our time there, but after the weather this Spring, we were glad to enjoy the light.
